Egocentric like a tornado, tactful like an avalanche, tolerant like a stake, stubborn like a battle tank, bureaucratic, greedy, officious and callous. In the college, I've seen these characters only from far away, but now I was about to make close contact with a particularly good sample of these species, a woman who gets the biggest punishment of all from me: I am not going to mention her name here.
She gently invited me on the phone to learn more about nature protection, but when I told her about the hybrid gardener, she screamed "I HATE THESE GUYS!!!!!" into the receiver. A good judge of men would have diagnosed advanced black and white brain disease, but I came to her completely unbiased.
"Vogon Constructor Fleets: Here is what to do if you want to get a lift from a Vogon: forget it. They are one of the most unpleasant races in the galaxy -- not actually evil, but bad tempered, bureaucratic, officious and callous."
Douglas Adams, "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"
