The seeds can be transplanted to the same medium again. The purpose is to refresh the nutritive substances and to isolate the young plants. After two more months when the first green leaves appear, the plants are transplanted again and the bottles are stored in a bright place without direct sunlight.

When the plants have leaves of one to three centimeters length, the plants can be removed from the bottle, cleaned under flowing water and transferred to pots or beds with a sand/lime mix. The humidity should be kept high by covering them with a glass pane. Some of the orchids won't survive the transfer from the sterile bottle, but the strongest will. A healthy selection is important for all plants.

Later they can be transferred into a natural biotope with an intact plant sociology. Only the best plants may be able to adapt themselves and develop blossoms and seeds. So the bottle culture can be a useful tool to preserve these rare plants.
