C. trifida is one of the saprophytic orchids which remains in an intimate relationship with the mycorrhiza partner for the whole life although it has a little chlorophyll.

For this reason, it's completely pointless to try to grow this small orchid in a garden.

In the nature, this orchid grows mostly in various forests on lime and acidic underground. Sometimes it can be found in open terrain like the edge of swamps.
