The typical biotope of this inconspicious orchid is the alder bog. It can be easily overlooked between the vegetation.
Malaxis has pale greenish blossoms, a single leaf and pseudobulbs which can form chains with the youngest on one end.
Due to its rarity and inconspicious exterior, this orchid can't be found frequently in garden culture. Like with the most orchids of wet biotopes, the culture should not be too difficult anyway.
