Below comes a mental transcript of this one-way discussion.

When I told her that I wanted to preserve and grow rare species, her vigilance woke up and she asked "Where did you got them?" I offered her bureaucratic proof that I've bought my plants legally with the necessary papers and she was content. She asked me which plants I would like to grow and was pleased when I told her that I don't prefer only these with large blossoms.

The dialog came to orchids in the garden, she said "Forget it!" and tried to persuade me that the culture is not possible. When I mentioned the different biotopes which I've created and the differences between the species, she said I should not assume that everybody has my intelligence. (Obviously she has not a very high opinion of others.) She grumbled that nobody should need orchids in particular, and I did strongly disagree and told her that these plants are so rare that I would do everything to increase them. (Obviously her mind has no room for people who want to own these plants only to do GOOD things with them.)

"If there was one thing a really powerful wizard can't stand, it is another wizard. His instinctive approach to diplomacy is to hex 'em till they glow, then curse them in the dark."
