Another of the northern Platantheras which grows only on a few places in north Scandinavia. The rare, inconspicious plants have only a single leaf and few, small white and green blossoms. They grow in the mountain regions and rarely grow higher than ten centimeters.
In north America, a similar species can be found: P. obtusa
Other Platanthera species can be found in hot regions, like the north african Platanthera algeriensis or P. kuenkelei. Few orchid families except Cypripedium have such a wide geographic variety.
