This is an orchid which grows on dry meadows with short grass. It can be found on places where sheep keep the vegetation short and the small orchid doesn't become overgrown.

The leaves are short and form a wintergreen rosette like the Ophrys species. Besides the rosette appears the stem with one row of blossoms. It blooms relatively late in the early fall.

It can be cultivated in a dry bed or hill bed and multiplies vegetatively in these places.
