SPIRANTHES ROMANZOFFIANA
E: Irish Lady's Tresses
F: Spiranthe dresse
G: Amerikanische Drehwurz

This is a very beautiful Spiranthes species which can be found mainly in north America, but it has outposts in Asia and the British isles.

The american variety can grow an half meter high, the stem bears three rows of white blossoms which are twisted around it like a corkscrew. The leaves of the plant are long and pointed.

It likes moist places like swamps, wet meadows or flooded areas. In culture it can be treated like Spiranthes aestivalis and like this species, it can multiply vegetatively.
