Gennaria diphylla
A small mediterranean orchid with two leaves and green blossoms. Can be kept in frost-free container culture in a lime/sand mix.

Habenaria spec.
These orchids have Platanthera-like blossoms, but with a forked lip with three lobes. H. radiata comes from east Asia, Habenaria tridactylites from the Canarian isles. Can be kept in a Sphagnum/ sand mix in the container. H. radiata may be hardy with protection.

Pleione spec.
Very good beginner orchids which can be put in a shady bed or a simple pot with permable soil. The orchids are very adaptable and have large blossoms. Pleione has pseudobulbs which are not hardy and can survive the winter in the cellar. P. limprichtii and P. formosana are the best beginner species. Pleione orchids come from China and Tibet and grow there epiphytic on trees and mossy rocks.
