Tachistoscopy
One of the most insidious and disgracing manipulation methods which I know is the subliminal influence which is forbidden in Germany with good reason. The method of this is to add interrupts to messages which are too short or too pale (optical Subliminals) or too quiet (acoustic subliminals) to be noticed consciously, but which are still able to enter the subconsciousness and cause damage here. Sometimes the brain rejects such a violation, if you get aching eyes or a headache after seeing movies or advertisements, it may be an evidence for a tachistoscopic onslaught. The most devastating effect against the original intention probably is the creation of a Psycho-Block. Irritating noises during music can also raise suspicions, then you will have to use technical tools to expose them and to inform the police about the responsible persons. It is an antidemocratic and throughly evil method which doesn't respect the right of Free Opinion building. I demand high fines analog to severe bodily harm for it, regardless of the purpose or person who uses it. Television
The best method to send transmissions with a minimal amount of information from people with a maximal amount of money to a maximal amount of ignorants to make them stupid in a minimal amount of time.
Text
When the time comes when you can not longer rely on mass media, the good old written text as the best communication medium can still be recommended, see also Book. He resists all forms of digital editing, people can only try to modify browsers or terminal programs (Antidote: Use open-source programs) but not the transmitted information. So anybody who wants to stay on the safe side can simply turn off graphics and sounds! Text can have an effect on subconsciousness only through the bottleneck of conscious perception, I consider this extremely important. And the expression power of text is not less, a well-written text can even stimulate fantasy! The texts of my humanistic book authors (see also my page about books) should have influenced my way of thinking more than all hidden cheating tricks of the world together!
Thumbtack
Another useful tool, every hitchhiker's satchel should contain a big box. They are useful to attach subversive information, to fix a towel in front of a video camera and to get rid of followers on bikes and with soft shoes. (Survival expert Ruediger Nehberg used thumbtacks to protect himself successfully from the bare-footed pirates of Malaysia. They are not good to stop cars, however. Here you would need metal spikes which could be stored in the saddle bags of your bike.
Tolerance
The ability to grant to other people the biggest amount of bodily and mental freedom which you can obtain without restricting the freedom of others. See also Equalization, Individualism.
Towel
A real hitchhiker always carries his towel. Besides more trivial uses, this nice item is very handy to temporarily deactivate Video cameras. Watch out for wall mirrors in malls, casinos, questioning rooms etc. which may also hide cameras.
Trees
Annoyed because the officials do what they want and even ancient single and avenue trees are cut down and replaced by junk plane-trees? Just bore diagonally into the core wood, insert a few thick iron rods and camouflage the hole again. This measure won't damage the tree, but it makes the core wood worthless and destroys all chain saws which try their luck on them.
Tyrants
Radical extremists who want to shove their own opinion into other people's mind with all means and one-sided cheating tricks like loud voice, continuous repetitions, bodily violence or psychical Manipulation, but which are not willed to repeat their own view of things only for one inch. Remember: Radical and reasonable exclude each other. See also Fanatics.
